UUID Generator
Bulk-generate UUID version 4 identifiers from the browser's cryptographic random source.
What is a UUID v4?
A version 4 UUID is a 128-bit identifier where 122 bits come from a random source and 6 bits
mark the version and variant. This generator uses crypto.randomUUID(), backed by
the browser's cryptographic random number generator — suitable for database keys, correlation
IDs, file names and test fixtures. With 122 random bits, collision probability is negligible
even at billions of identifiers.
FAQ
Are these UUIDs traceable to my device?
No. Unlike MAC-address-based UUID v1, version 4 contains no device or time information.
Can I use them as database primary keys?
You can, but be aware random UUIDs hurt index locality on some databases — many teams prefer them as external identifiers with sequential internal keys.
Is generation done locally?
Yes — nothing is requested or transmitted.
